The IPLAC Agents Committee presents:

35 U.S.C. § 112 sets forth the disclosure requirements for a U.S. patent application.  Section (a) of the statute requires a written description of the invention adequate enough to ensure "that the public receives something in return for the exclusionary rights that are granted to the inventor by a patent." The focus of this presentation will be to review the requirements of 35 U.S.C § 112(a), to provide reminders regarding some of the pitfalls and challenges related to 112(a), and to provide tips and guidelines related to drafting a 112(a)-compliant specification and claims.

The event is presented by Paul Stephens (Partner at Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP) and Stephanie Vavra (Senior Counsel at Quarles & Brady LLP)
